Unique Pittsburgh Engagement Spots
Engagement Photos at Strip District

If you’re looking for a fun location to get your engagement photos done that is unique to what everybody else is doing, check out the new Strip District Terminal location! Rachel, George and I took advantage of one of the city’s most diverse and walkable neighborhoods to capture some really whimsical and different photos.

We started the session at The Terminal, a new-ish revamp of the Strip District replete with colorful murals, cute storefronts, modern decor, and tons of Instagrammable spots! As a lover of color, we had to take advantage of the inside of the Novo Asian Food Hall with its bold decor. It was also a fun way to kick off the session as the more creative environment warranted more candid posing.

Next we headed to the back of the Terminal that used to house the market loading docks and found some industrial looking backgrounds to use with lovely mint green accents. It was just a short walk from there to the Cork Factory and adjacent parking garage which offered up beautiful sky-line views of the city. We had to get a little inventive to avoid some parked cars, but strategic posing placement made for some very “Pittsburgy” photos. There are not many locations in the city where you can get easily accessible sky-line photos AND walk to a location that’s less urban-looking for photos with a totally different feel.

After the rooftop pics, we wandered around the surrounding buildings looking for pretty landscaping and old-school architecture, which rounded out the shoot with some vintage vibes. Soaring red-brick apartment buildings and manicured sidewalks and landscapes tucked in between was a great place to get some more romantic and classic shots in without random strangers passing by. In just 10 minutes of walking, we found 3 totally different spots to photograph in that evoked 3 totally different vibes. Pittsburgh is a treasure trove if you know where to look!
